I have built a track record of success in launching new business units and re-modelling business models for business units or enterprises in a phase of decline. These re-modelling of enterprises in distress included the re-alignment of strategy and markets, identifying new channels of funding, private and public partnerships and re-launching through new marketing channels. I consult across industries and sectors (private and public) in the discipline of organisation development, especially the development of leaders and I have the last couple of years focused on logistics, supply chain and transport as applied in Africa and internationally. The Covid-pandemic has brought organisational issues to the burning platform for accelerated change in how organisations should or could become more agile and resilient through a multi-layered leadership corps that build and sustain value for their companies by focusing on the constant interface and consequence of corporate conduct on the natural environment which inter-leads into the systems, technology and processes employed under the good corporate governance umbrella. A third leg of the triangle (ESG-Environment, Social Responsibility and Governance) should flow as a natural response to society and for the greater good. Excellent examples are described by the myriad ways in which companies have responded globally to the pandemic by supplying ventilators, personal protective clothing to name a few examples of how companies changed business and manufacturing processes in response to create societal value. The evidence is clear that companies that measure high in the ESG analytical framework find it less difficult to respond to the current global pandemic.
