Responsible for the day to day activities of 10 to 20 mine personnel along with the daily pre and post shift inspections safety meetings and coordinate with underground managers and captains on production goals as well as transitioning into the next shift for smooth operations.❖ Make decisions based on varying workplace circumstances in an attempt to maximize production with given workforce and ensure workplace is safe and if not, made safe or appropriately barricaded off.❖ Check sets in and re check operators’ paperwork to ensure the machines are safe to use as well as examining the conditions of refuge chambers and escape ways.❖ Oversee mine activity to make sure operational daily targets are met or exceeded by monitoring the progress and asses both safety and quality of task performance.❖ Monitor employee performance (train and retrain employees) in attempt to strengthen weakness and provide maximum production.❖ Conduct inspections on active areas in relation to stopes, production drillings, development headings, magazine, pumps and road ways in the mine.❖ Organize and guide service crew to set up headings to avoid breach of mining regulations.❖ Coordinate with and assist drillers, services crew and loader operators for development andstope headings readiness to help blastmen prepare for charging.❖ Assist and monitor stope prepping and charging, raise charging, development charging andother activities that require specific safety instructions.❖ Record and log all activities that happened within the shift into the shiftboss log book tohelp the next shift have smooth operation.

 Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance, and actively promote Safety Culture and Hazard Awareness on the Mine Advise Technical Service team on operational strategy Liaise with Technical Service team in short term operational scheduling Assist with operational strategy as well as tracking of development rates. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of rock tools (i.e., drilling consumables forlonghole and bench drilling rigs). Assist with major blast timing and production / remedial drilling. Raise requisitions (A2/A5) for critical non-stock and new stock items using JDE software. Conduct regular and frequent inspections of operations, equipment and processes to ensureplanned production goals are achieved safely as well as regulatory and permit compliance. Assist Underground Manager in determining staffing levels. Carry out underground development and production improvement analysis highlighting performance,key delay trends and ranking delays for improvement. Responsible for technical assessment and evaluation of drill consumables before adoption into mainstream production.

 Supervision of production and development drilling by checking ring dumps, hole dips, laser point and hole length accuracies. Supervision of production, raise and development charging by checking priming, charge density, red capping, stemming, charge collaring, connecting and firing of blast. Check drilled holes accuracy through Borehole Tracking and Borehole Camera survey. 2 Measure Velocity of Detonation (VOD). Blast fragmentation analysis and optimisation using wipfrag software.  Monitor and supervise electronic blast programming. Calibration explosive charge trucks
