• Supporting production team at Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), my responsibilities included:- Ensure electrical installations are executed according to the prescribed standards and thereafter provide necessary documentation.- Attend and resolve breakdowns by applying proper diagnostic maintenance in accordance with agreed SOP’s.- Design and implement modifications to the existing Electrical, Instrumentation and control systems to suit user requirements.- Perform computerized troubleshooting on PROFIBUS industrial communication network using PROFITRACE software to resolve communication faults.- Run PLC programs on SIEMENS STEP 7 and TIA portal to monitor Analog and Digital signals from field devices, perform hardware configuration when new installation is done, and modification of existing input/output addresses in case of faults.- Conduct Scheduled Preventive maintenance of all electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation systems at the Brewing department.• Continuous improvement projects undertaken include:- Installation and commissioning of Microbrewery plant meant for craft beer production.- Upgrade of SCADA system at Brewing department that involved I/O tests, process confirmation and system integration.- Installation of new Buhler grain offloading unit which was automated to eliminate grain contamination.- Installation and automation of steam shut-off valves feeding Mash Tun Kettles that eliminated energy loss during mashing.

Olkaria

Gained vast understanding of geothermal power plant generation from steam fields to generation sub-station. Working under the Plant Electrical Engineer, I undertook various High Voltage (HV) electrical test on electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, switch gears and motors. These tests include Insulation Resistance (IR) test, Dielectric Strength tests, Transformer Protection Functional tests, Turn Ratio Test (TRT), Sweep Frequency Response (SFRA) test, Tan Delta test and DC winding resistance test.
