Product ManagerUba Apr 2012 - Sep 201857 Marina Street LagosThe management and development of a bouquet of e-banking products and services, including the Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Alerts Services, NFC Chip Payments, SMS Banking and Web based payment systems in Nigeria and Africa, from conceptualisation, to design, build up, development and testing to ensure the delivery of innovative, secure, sustainable, profitable products and excellent customer experiences.Key Contributions:Internet Banking: Managed the development, testing, introduction and marketing of five additional and innovative features, namely the Instant funds transfer to other banks, One time passwords to customer’s mobile phones for transaction authorisation, loading of prepaid cards in Nigeria and 18 African countries to drive product penetration from a paltry 30,000 active customers to over 144,000 in April 2014, transaction volumes from N2.2Bn in April 2012 to over N12Bn in April 2014 and an increase in product revenue from monthly average of N4m in April 2012 to over N18m in April 2014.Mobile Banking & SMS: Introduced at least three new features to U-Mobile, developed all versions for Windows, Blackberry, iOS Android and USSD, the new face of U-Mobile with personalised narration, name validation, instant enrolment options using cards and tokens, in Nigeria and 18 African countries leading to an increase in monthly volumes to over N18Bn from N1Bn, revenue from N2m monthly to over N16m monthly, SMS Alerts Systems improved from 85% uptime to 99.9% uptime -
Properties ProcurementUba Plc Sep 2010 - Mar 201257 Marina Street LagosThe management of the supply chain process with respect to the procurement, distribution and implementation of all construction, property management and facilities management related services, ranging from the liaisons with all construction professionals in UBA properties to obtain necessary RFQ documentation, the management of bid and negotiation sessions, to management of all related contracts toward final execution and closure of the supply chain.Key Contributions:Properties Management: Standardised the bid negotiation reporting template, presently still in use, managed over 100 construction related bid sessions to closure in the form of contracts and through negotiation sessions, recorded a total of over N300m in cost savings for the bank during this period.Facilities Management: Standardised the negotiation analysis template for facilities, presently still in use, managed over 300 facilities management related sessions to closure in the form of contracts, ranging from generator and roof repairs at business offices to long term projects such as the replacement of lifts in UBA House, through negotiation sessions, recorded a total of over N400m in cost savings cumulatively for the bank on facilities related supply chain.Procurement of Customised Items: Played the role of the anchor person for the procurement of specialised equipment, furniture and materials not readily found in the open market, ranging from the large format foot mat presently in use at UBA House to the steel cased lockers in use at all UBA Business Offices and custom built executive furniture used in the bank’s executive floor, cost savings recorded in this category through negotiations cumulatively amount to over N50m. -
Project ManagerUba Aug 2006 - Aug 201057, Marina Street, LagosEssentially, the project management role spanned various units and various kinds of projects, from IT based projects through construction based projects to facilities based projects, it also required the integration of various skill sets in IT with background in Architecture and Design to deliver on key transformation projects in the bank during this period.Key Contributions:IT Project Management: Successfully coordinated and supervised on site delivery of all key IT Assets , namely LAN, Power, WAN and PCs to over 88 Upgraded Business Offices and 50 New Business Offices throughout Nigeria and set a standard template for the implementation of LAN networks in all new business offices between September 2006 and October 2007.Facilities Project Management: Internal Coordination of the UBA House renovation project, a project with preliminary estimated cost of N8.5Bn, which required upgrade of all key facilities in the building as a part of global rebranding of UBA as Africa’s Global bank, such as the replacement of the lifts, central Air Conditioning Systems, Sewage treatment plants, flooring, ceilings, LAN Cabling, Electrical Cabling and Lighting, successfully delivered the post bid reports for UBA House renovation project, executed the replacement of the Cargo lifts project.Strategic Project Planning: Contributed immensely to the conceptualisation and design of a project strategic to the development of manpower and human resources in the bank, the UBA Academy project using established architecture and design skills sets, this helped the management analyse costs and timelines and chart a direction for it’s implementation. -
Backend It SupportUba Group Aug 2003 - Jul 2006Uba House Marina LagosServed as a core member of the business software support team, also known as core banking application support team in many banks(Flex-cube), also played multiple roles as the backend systems administrator for various key platforms used by internal and external customers of the bank.Key Contributions:UBA Internet Banking (EBPP) Administration: Successfully supported and system managed a Solaris Unix based internet banking solution from I-flex, named EBPP between september 2003 and August 2005 , this required excellent technical skills on Unix based systems and sun SPARC systems. Remedy Action Request System Administration: UBA previously deployed the Remedy Action Request System as it’s Enterprise support ticketing system, I managed the setup, configuration of the system as well as the training and backend support to all internal users.Core Banking Application Support: Successfully supported internal customers on the core banking applications and actively participated in two key software migration projects, namely the BRAINS to Flex cube migration, my personal contribution culminated in the successful cutover of over 20 business offices, also participated in the Flex-cube to Finacle Migration project. -
