Greetings!Happy to see you found your way to my LinkedIn profile and hopefully we can help each other out.I'm Ernst-Jan Bentvelzen (Ernst) and currently employed at Evolve IP as Software Engineer.Have been an active volleyball player/coach/trainer for over more than 26 years, I'm all about teamplay. Being a team - be it in sports or work environment - usually means that you're as strong as your weakest player. So, you can either break your team by focusing on that player's weakness, or enhance your team by trying your best to compensate for that weakness. Personally, I prefer the latter. Also, working in a team helps you strengthen your own weaknesses by learning from your betters, since we all have room for improvement somewhere. Therefore, in my opinion, a team is not defined by the weakest player, but by the combined strength of all players.Altough, my knees gave up a little, so I switched to archery. This meant I had to only rely on myself, since I was both the weakest and strongest player. While you can do it as a team, it remains mostly an individual sport, and it helped me to concentrate and focus even more on details. Since I still like teaching others, I am now also an archery trainer for my club.In my work I try to live up to both these experiences by keeping a "helicopter view"​ that spans multiple departments. As developer you're usually the spider in the web that connects the customer, sales, customer support and project management. And you're the only one who can truly foresee/oversee any oversights of any of them. I try to anticipate or correct any of these by informing whatever involved party, in the past sometimes overstepping the "official"​ boundaries, but always in the customers'​ best interest.Motto: No matter how dire the situation, there's always something to smile about. ツ Pros: ✔ Teamplayer✔ Honest✔ Customer driven✔ Always trying to find that silver liningCons:✘ Honest (Wait, what?
