Vogtle 3&4

Part of the team managing the subcontracted work scope for the installation of two Westinghouse AP1000 Nuclear Units at Plant Vogtle. Subcontracts portfolio is large and diverse. Managing the installation of the cooling towers, shield building, RVS system, coatings system, security systems, communications, iso phase bus install, railroad spurs, excavation, temporary security workforce, safety related coatings, waterproofing, concrete and soil testing, and support services performing safety related and non-safety related work. Managing the interfaces and work packages between subcontracts and construction, engineering, procurement, quality, safety, and our training department. Managing subcontract change orders, claims, claims avoidance, and subcontracts staff. Managing the SCWE, ECP, and ERB interfaces with the subcontractors. Coordinating a support team of construction, safety, engineering, and quality experts to support the success of these subcontractors.

Managed the subcontractors and subcontracts staff at the Duke Dan River 620 MW natural gas two-on-one combined cycle project. Plant consists of 2 GE 7241 FA CT sets and two Vogt Heat Recovery Steam Generators serving GE Steam Turbine/Generator, and associated plant systems and equipment.

Jamaica

Managed the operations, maintenance, engineering, and construction activities at this oil and gas fired power plant supporting Alpart’s bauxite to alumina refinery. Achieved the best safety statistics, budget performance, efficiency improvements, and schedule conformance of any NAES project worldwide, and became the highest achieving NAES plant manager to that date. While managing the operation of the power plant also managed a very successful overhaul and upgrade program which included three major equipment overhauls or upgrade projects each year. All were completed on schedule and within budget. These projects included bi-annual boiler overhauls, complete boiler generating bank replacement, replacement of main burner units, air-heater overhauls, generator rotor and stator replacements, steam turbine and generator overhauls, steam turbine rotor replacement, an upgrade to electronic governor systems, and plant upgrade to a distributed control system. Achieved and maintained a good relationship with the Client and led the effort to win a 5 year extension to our contract. Saved the Owner millions annually in fuel and labor costs.
