I am currently a student at the University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing my bachelor's degree in marketing. My previous job in the golfing industry has helped me develop some skills needed in the marketing field such as dealing with customer services, communication skills, etc. I started working in the golfing industry in 2021 to try and expand my social skills, communication and also just to try and from connections with the people there because most of the people that play are very successful people. I have a small business of my own and i knew that by working there i could work on my marketing skills and advertise my small business a little more.Working there has not only shown me how to communicate with people better but it has also taught me how to be able to get myself involved into certain conversations with certain people. My time working at the golf course i spent talking with a lot of the older gentlemen, getting their advice with college, stock trading, business owning etc. I used my charisma, integrity, and other communicative traits to get them to talk to me. As time went on i realized how a lot of the older men just want someone to be able to talk to and someone to listen to them. Over time i built bonds with these people and built up their trust, and they are people who i know will help me down my path in the business field as long as i stay in touch. My ring making business takes a lot of determination and a lot of grit, which at the end of the day is very beneficial to me because it teaches me to keep going even when things slow down or don't go as planned. I know that by pursuing a business degree i will learn a lot more information that i could start applying right away.
