Equus Coaching is a powerful access tool that spotlights our habitual patterns of thought and action, allowing us to subtly shift how we treat ourselves and others, on the spot. The horse, any horse, is a precise body language expert mirroring our internal state and gently helping us understand and change how we show up in the world.

Led 20 development, alumni relations, and advancement services staff to create a staff-driven advancement program to engage more alumni, parents and friends for the next campaign.  Helped secure total gift income of $10.72M (FY05), $9.35M (FY06), $9.67M (FY07), $9.8M (FY08) $15.62M (FY09) and $9.41M (FY10.) Implemented best practices in major gifts management. Staffed the Board and President in Trusteeship matters and staff the President's Leadership Council to identify and prepare new volunteers for leadership roles.

A member of the President’s senior staff, I managed all development, alumni, and college communications staff while working with senior staff, faculty, alumni volunteers, and trustees to implement the College’s ambitious new Strategic Plan. Led 40 staff, staffed the President to assist in raising $12.88M in FY04 total gift income, 36% ahead of the prior year.

Supported by a strong development program that I led, Puget Sound served an increasingly capable, residential undergrad population and increased its endowment from $81M (1993) to $181M (2003.) Managed 13 development staff and more than doubled total giving from FY93 to FY01. Planned and managed the Charting the Future Campaign (9/94-12/01) to successful completion with $68.5M raised against a $50M goal.

Planned and implemented all advancement activity for the College in its first campaign (1987-93.) Raised $4.7M in 1990-93 from individuals, corporations and foundations. Negotiated three gifts of $1M+ and many involving real property and trusts. Generated abundant leads and support for my college from central development and UW Foundation staff and volunteers. Recruited volunteers from the forest products industry to raise $600,000+ per year from their companies. Staffed Forestry Alumni Association.

Increased unrestricted annual giving total by 54% with minimal budget increase by personally soliciting leadership gifts and building a successful reunion giving campaign. Managed 50 volunteer solicitors to more than double $1,000+ and $10,000+ gift club memberships. Led a successful alumni/donor database conversion while leading the annual fund.

Raised $150,000 in FY86 (+7%) during a competing capital campaign by soliciting, recruiting, and motivating 30 parent fundraising volunteers. Wrote and produced alumni periodical and other publications. Increased TV and press coverage of school programs and people.
