My time with 2-1-1 Big Bend began as a volunteer engagement. I found the work rewarding and became a paid hotline counselor, shift supervisor, and trainer. for the organization. With 2-1-1 Big Bend I provided short-term crisis counseling for Helpline 2-1-1 and the National Suicide Prevention Life line; and specialized information and referral for the HIV/Aids Helpline and Family Health Line. As a trainer I instructed incoming volunteers in groups of 6 to develop their skills and understanding of procedures to become a hotline counselor.

As a part of the leadership team at the store level for Aeropostal in Sunrise and Tallahassee, Florida I generated sales by providing excellent customer service and modeling behavior for new associates. In my nearly 5 years with the company, I became a Cash Wrap Specialist responsible for the financial controls at the point of sale and finally a Sales Lead Manager responsible for loss prevention and human resources.
