1. Leadership and Management: As the ICT CDS President, I was responsible for providing leadership to the members of the ICT CDS group. This involves coordinating and organizing meetings, setting goals and objectives, and delegating tasks to other members (EXCOS) to ensure the smooth functioning of the group.2. Program Planning and Implementation: I was responsible for planning and implementing various programs and initiatives related to information and communication technology within the community. This may include organizing training workshops, seminars, or awareness campaigns to promote digital literacy, ICT skills, and technological innovation.3. Collaboration and Networking: There was need to collaborate and build relationships with relevant stakeholders, both within the NYSC community and outside. This included partnering with local schools, government agencies, NGOs, and private organizations to implement ICT-related projects and initiatives that benefit the community.4. Skill Development and Training: As the President, there was need to identify the training needs of the members and organize skill development programs to enhance their ICT competencies. This can involve arranging training sessions, inviting guest speakers, or facilitating knowledge sharing among the group members.5. Reporting and Documentation: I was responsible for maintaining accurate records of the activities and achievements of the ICT CDS group. This includes documenting project progress, preparing reports, and submitting necessary documentation to the NYSC officials for evaluation.

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria

Worked with the Power Department. The Power department had two units (Transmission and Distribution) of which I was privileged to serve in both. The first unit: Transmission Department was responsible for the planning, development, operation, and maintenance of the state’s electrical transmission infrastructure. Some tasks handled included grid planning and expansion, project management, grid operation and control, maintenance and asset management, regulatory compliance, and grid monitoring and data analysis. The departments’ primary objective is to ensure the efficient and reliable transmission of electricity across the national grid, contributing to improved power supply and economic growth in Bayelsa state.The unit controlls the power in the whole Secretariat complex (Bayelsa state secretariat) that houses almost all the Ministries in the state. Here I learnt and executed practically the closing(energizing) and opening (Deenergizing) of the whole power in the secretariat through the control panel. This control panel feeds power to all the Four (4) Transformers in the secretariat complex. I equally in this unit took part partially in onsite servicing and maintenance of Transformer(T3) (supplying power to ANNEX 5) that was faulty. I also got to know that before closing(energizing/feeding) the transformers the voltage of the incomer in the voltage panel must be less than or equals 420volts.The second unit carries out Distribution (Electrification projects) in rural communities in what is known as the Rural Electrification Unit. Here I joined a team of Engineers for analysis check at a community named Elebele in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state. Also, I actively participated in the successful restoration of two terminated overhead transmission lines, demonstrating problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and ability to work effectively under pressure, at the SWALI Bridge, at Bayelsa state.To round it up,generally I had Civil Service Experience.
