Impact is a non-profit program of leading advocacy organizations, including Environment America and USPIRG, that runs grassroots campaigns. It’s a full-time, two-year commitment to work for our environment, our democracy and our future. Our mission is to create the grassroots action, energy and power it takes to make an impact on important issues. During my time with Impact, I worked with Environment Virginia, state affiliate of Environment America.

CAMPAIGN ORGANIZING:​ Contributed to VPIRG's efforts in Vermont’s Right to Know GMO campaign; attended legislative committee meetings and hearings concerning the GMO Right to Know bill; organized and expanded VPRIG's media contacts including all of Vermont's newspapers, radio stations, magazines, and websites, in order for VPIRG to strategically target priority constituencies; developed campaign talking pointsCOMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:​ Coordinated a small group of local activists' activities including but not limited to, distributing educational materials to their communities, conducting GMO informational sessions and research; gathered petitions for the campaign coordinator to present to state legislators; contacted local businesses to testify on behalf of the GMO labeling bill; drafted Letters to the Editor to be submitted by local activists

PUBLIC SPEAKING AND ENGAGEMENT: ​ Represented the University to prospective and admitted students, conducted campus tours and responded to questions from prospective students and families related to campus life, academics, community involvement, and career opportunities; selected to give presentations and sit on panels of campus stakeholders including college deans, student life coordinators, and professors to field questions about UVM for groups ranging from 15 to over 1,000 people, represented UVM at Chicago regional eventsMANAGEMENT:​ Managed a weekly shift of student admissions representatives as well as prospective student and tour activities; assisted in coordinating and training new staff members in the areas of office management, tour routes, campus facts, social justice and UVM's overall mission.

• Campaigned for Vermont’s ten-year clean energy plan and bottle bill initiative, speaking with and engaging citizens across the state• Attended a variety of environmental briefings from a variety of stakeholders including Vermont's governor, Peter Shumlin and environmental activist Bill McKibben.• Utilized both street and door-to-door canvassing in order to raise money for VPIRG's initiatives and increase awareness of the state's environmental issues and campaigns
