Eric Bollens is a senior technology executive with over a decade of leadership experience in the real estate, environmental, education, energy and compliance sectors. At CloudCompli, Eric led teams building solutions for modern data-driven smart cities and industries including Fortune 500 companies, Top 20 homebuilders, and major metropolitan areas.Before CloudCompli, Eric worked as the Open Source Architect for UCLA's Office of Information Technology, the architect of the University of California system's mobile strategy, a protocol designer for the IMS Global Learning Consortium, a partner at a software development firm, and a consultant for IT ventures in the energy, education, entertainment, investment management, logistics and environmental management sectors.Since 2004, Eric has also provided consulting services through Bollens Information Technology Services. He specializes in early stage strategy and implementation, including business planning, product design, software development, infrastructure deployment, and risk management. Eric has been recognized for his work as winner of the CalEPA Data Innovation Challenge, as a two-time gold winner of the University of California’s Larry L. Sautter Award for Innovation in IT, and as a recipient of the IMS Global Learning Consortium's leadership award. A practicum running alongside the Mirman School's STEAM, entrepreneurship and design thinking programs, MirmanX is divided into (1) a business development component that culminates with pitch day to a group of investors and (2) a product implementation component where the selected and funded ideas are brought to fruition and launched.Eric designed the original concept for MirmanX and worked with school faculty and staff to define and implement the program. Eric then went on to serve as Chair of its independent Venture Board for the program's first three years, coordinating program elements and working with the school on the long-term vision and strategy of the program.

Open Source ArchitectUniversity Of California, Los Angeles May 2007 - 2015Los Angeles, Ca, UsEric managed technical strategy, implementation and adoption for a number of open source mobile and web platforms at UCLA and across the University of California.In 2010, Eric developed the initial version of the UC Mobile Web Framework (MWF) and led its growth into a multi-institution consortium that came to include over 15 higher ed universities. Until his departure in 2015, Eric kept this consortium in sync with leading edge mobile technologies, managing the development of strategies and tools around responsive web design, native app development, and more. Most notably, this collaboration produced the WebBlocks responsive toolkit and, in collaboration with the IMS Global Learning Consortium, the Community App Sharing Architecture (CASA).Beyond mobile-related initiatives, Eric had a technical leadership role in campus-wide platforms including UCLA's Common Collaboration & Learning Environment, UCLA on iTunes U, and UCLA's Online Polling Tool.
