Eric Bollens is a senior technology executive with over a decade of leadership experience in the real estate, environmental, education, energy and compliance sectors. Eric is a hands-on technology leader who is as at home in the code as in the boardroom and who's interest lies principally at the intersection of business and technology, building strategies, platforms and teams to satisfy core business needs with technical solutions.Eric is the Chief Technology Officer of LightBox, where he leads the organization that builds and maintains LightBox's web and data products, its data assets, its big data platform, and the infrastructure beneath it, for a business that has supported over $3T in CRE transactions and powers over 6 thousand spatial insights per second for customers including Federal and state agencies, leading mapping providers, and large banks, investment firms and brokers. Prior to serving as CTO, Eric was Sr. Vice President of Engineering for Location Products and Data Platform at LightBox, where his focus was specifically on the unification of LightBox's data assets and the development of LightBox’s next generation data platform.Prior to LightBox, Eric was the Chief Technology Officer of CloudCompli, a leader in environmental protection and compliance software. At CloudCompli, Eric led teams building solutions for modern data-driven smart cities and industries including Fortune 500 companies, Top 20 homebuilders, and major metropolitan areas.Before CloudCompli, Eric worked as the Open Source Architect for UCLA's Office of Information Technology, the architect of the University of California system's mobile strategy, a protocol designer for the IMS Global Learning Consortium, a partner at a software development firm, and a consultant for IT ventures in the energy, education, entertainment, investment management, logistics and environmental management sectors.Since 2004, Eric has also provided consulting services through Bollens Information Technology Services. He specializes in early stage strategy and implementation, including business planning, product design, software development, infrastructure deployment, and risk management. Eric has been recognized for his work as winner of the CalEPA Data Innovation Challenge, as a two-time gold winner of the University of California’s Larry L. Sautter Award for Innovation in IT, and as a recipient of the IMS Global Learning Consortium's leadership award. Eric is also a contributor to open source projects, including software of such significance as to feature in GitHub's Artic Code Vault.
