As the Project Coordinator, I was responsible for building a community research program in the Masters Public Administration program at North Carolina Central University. I built relationships with nonprofit organizations to create capacity building projects in which graduate students could implement. In eight months, I facilitated nine community projects. Durham’s Independent Weekly highlighted the food desert project as part of Durham’s Urban Coalition to improve food access and combat hunger.Additionally, I was able to strengthen community relations and networks for the development of NCCU’s social entrepreneurial collaborative. I recruited several social entrepreneurs and community organizers to start an advisory board to assist NCCU develop a Social Entrepreneurial Collaborative.
