Ebony Davis Email and Phone Number
A committed professional eager to establish networks with likeminded professionals interested in social justice work and advocacy. Through my internship with the Central Union Mission and my fellowship with The Great Oaks Foundation I have developed key skills such as strategic thinking, communications, leadership, and mentoring. Prior to obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, I culminated my matriculation at Spelman College by submitting a thesis that explored the impact of colorism on the academic engagement, performance, and socialization of Black women students at Spelman college. This research is of special interest to me, as both a sociologist that believes this topic is under-researched and underrepresented in discussions of discrimination and as a darker-skinned, African American woman that has experienced colorism. Through conducting this research, I developed skills such as project management, interviewing, survey creation and implementation, and data analysis. I aim to build upon the aforementioned skills, while developing others, as I engage in work that supports people of vulnerable populations and disenfranchised communities.
