I am a learning professional with over 15 years of experience researching and designing strategies to improve individual and organizational efforts to learn, apply, and create knowledge.Throughout my professional life, I have thrived on the challenge of using resources in the most efficient way to both meet strategic objectives and serve as seed for future endeavors. Through collaboration and innovation, I have: - led departments through transitions and subsequent periods of growth (319% over the previous year) with a reduction in budgetary spending, - redesigned and launched programs with 269% growth over the previous term, and - continued the work of mentors yielding 338.46% growth in their flagship program.In addition to strategic management and program development, I enjoy research. My career-long passion has been to discover methods for effectively measuring learning, and more specifically, I strive to measure the impact of self-assessment on an individual’s ability to learn and create knowledge. So far, the application of this work has guided educator training and content delivery strategy, and there is so much more to learn. A few years ago, one of my staff members told me, “Your why is “empowerment and equity.” It is evident in everything you do.” While I struggle with the word “empowerment” (as it implies power is something to give and not something that is inherently ours), until I find a more fitting word, "empowerment and equity" remains the most apt description of my purpose. From the learning support programs I built, academic technology teams I developed and trained, and the staff development programming I launched to the research I conduct, I strive to build a world where everyone can develop their own definition of success and has equal access to realizing that success.
