My expertise at the intersection of literacy and social justice education and feminist and civic engagement has taken me to schools and community based programs in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Manhattan, Ojai, Santa Monica and Long Beach, California, and now Brooklyn. I facilitate dynamic, heterogenous, skill-building humanities classes, workshops and community conversations grounded in collaboration, close reading, and experiential problem solving. I am especially interested in the cultural and political overlap of critical pedagogy, repro and gender justice, youth and pop culture, social class and the progressive independent school sphere. Continuing my own journey as a learner and community leader is of utmost importance; I am the elected SoCal Class Representative of Emerge California Class of 2021 and a graduate of the 2020 cohort of the Stonewall Democratic Club Leadership Training Program. In summer 2018 I was invited to Harvard Divinity School for the Religious Literacy Summer Institute for Educators. I'm also appreciative of Vipassana mindfulness techniques and have twice committed to weeklong silent People of Color retreats at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts. I've served on the boards of Bitch Media, The Hartford Friends and Enemies of Wallace Stevens, The Cove Center for Grieving Children, Being Alive LA, Heart of LA Democratic Club and the Greenwich Academy Alumnae Advisory Board. During my LA years I served Arts Alive LA, NARAL Pro Choice California's Privacy PAC and the Independent Shakespeare Company. A major goal of mine is to serve as a school trustee.
