The GAS1 project covered the construction of Open Cycle Gas Turbine Power stations (adjacent to existing power stations completed in 2007 for the OCGT project), valued at approximately R6 billion.The main contract I managed covered the design and construction of power reticulation; main power station and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) cabling; earthing installation; security fencing, installation of telecommunications services; as well as the main lighting systems for the GAS1 project at Ankerlig (Atlantis, Western Cape) and Gourikwa (Mosselbay, Southern Cape) sites.I was also involved in the closure of the OCGT project which covered most of the same items indicated above.
