Ebrahim received his BSc. in software engineering from Isfahan University of Technology (Iran) in 1998. From 1998 to 1999 he had been working as a software developer in Taban Niroo Company in Isfahan.In 1999 Ebrahim joined the Amar Kabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic University) to continue his academic studies where he succeeded to achieve his MSc. in software engineering in 2001. As his M.Sc. thesis, he conducted joint research with the Iran Telecommunication Research Center (ITRC) to develop a software simulator to implement, compare and analyze the effectiveness of different channel assignment algorithms in the mobile cellular networks. After graduation, Ebrahim served as the software developer, system analyst and data analysts, author, lecturer, IT director, Co-Founder of various companies and institutions including:• IKCO Company, a car manufactory company in Iran • Shahrekord University, Iran • Samapardazesh Company, an IT company in Iran• An applied science university, in Lordegan Iran • Publishing two programming booksIn 2010 he joined the Delft University of Technology to start his Ph.D. research on developing a design framework for establishing technology-based personal learning environments in organizations. To this end, he conducted an extensive theoretical study and three design cases within Achmea and Philips companies and Amadeus Lyceum Secondary school in the Netherlands. From 2016 Ebrahim joined as a postdoc researcher to an NRO research to explore innovative strategies for implementing the formative assessment of conceptual learning in design-based education within the context of computer science education in the Netherlands.In 2019 Ebrahim started working as an assistant professor at the computer science department of the Management, System, and Technology (MST) faculty of the open university of the Netherlands.

The research aims at facilitating the formative assessment of conceptual development in the design-based education. To this end, following an educational design research approach, the required learning and test materials are developed and tested by a consortium of 6 high schools across the Netherlands. The research involves several activities including developing and evaluating learning materials, building supporting software applications, running professional development programs for the participating teachers, managing the whole project, collecting and analyzing data, and writing and publishing scientific articles. PLEs represent a multidisciplinary concept underpinned by the recent advancements in Web 2.0 technologies and rooted in several learning theories and human development concepts such as self-regulated and self-directed learning, learner-generated content/context, learner’s control, Connectivism, Heutagogy, and e-Learning 2.0. In a nutshell, A PLE is a learner-centric learning environment aiming at empowering and encouraging employees to regulate and direct their learning and competency development and transferring the responsibility of learning from the organization to employees. The main performed activities included:• Analysing the learning process and requirements of the call agents in the CCC’s context.• Determining design principles to develop an e-Learning system based on 70:20:10 philosophy.• Performing quantitative research including data analysis, AHP, survey, and learning analytic using different tools including Gephi, SPSS, Microsoft ACCESS, and Collector. • Performing qualitative research including interview, field observation, and content analysis using tools including Atlas.ti.Results: identifying factors affecting the knowledge updating/competency development of call agents, improving the design of an existing e-learning system. -
