Built a team of researchers, engineers, and business leaders focused on matching DeFi based capital with tokenized real world assets. We focused on lending infrastructure in US markets.

~ Reoriented team from a "research" stance to a "production" stance, leading the transition from a pre-launch team to a production ready team.~ Led an improvement of all major development processes, rapidly increasing overall throughput in the development lifecycle (many X improvement.)~ Led the reorganization of the staff and almost all processes in preparation for launch and network operations, enabling an open day peak of ~$300B in undiluted Token value.~ Guided the team through rapid expansion, from ~90 to ~215 employees, mostly engineers.~ Radically increased efficiency of the product -> engineering cycle, focusing the team on the features required for community engagement.

~ Led the Data Center Community effort and supporting independent Internet infrastructure providers.~ Built global network of Node Operators, Data Centers, and hardware providers.~ Designed and implemented Token Economics and all other fundamental structures needed to support the global network.~ Initiated fundraising efforts for infrastructure, resulting in over $50M raised for building the network.

~ Advised company through several transitional events, including sale of Patent portfolio.

~ Managed 15 employees and a budget of $1.2M+, resulting in partnership with MyEtherWallet.~ Led engineering team to launch first publicly available anti-fraud solution in blockchain ecosystem. ~ Co-authored and submitted 400+ pages of provisional patent work.~ Helped build executive team~ Significant leader in fundraising effort.

~ Led blockchain architecture, helping the team shape an awesome decentralized architecture and establish a leadership position in the Blockchain space.~ Led writing the whitepaper for Coral as a decentralized protocol that protects consumers from blockchain fraud. By graphing every blockchain transaction and using proprietary predictive analytics, Coral identifies the likelihood of fraud and tracks the flow of fraudulently obtained funds/tokens. An anonymous, address-level trust score is generated before tokens are sent, enabling token senders to prevent transfers to questionable or fraudulent addresses. Coral then delivered fraud alerts and prevented money laundering for exchanges, wallets, dApps and e-commerce companies.

~ Led Spirion's data science and machine learning initiatives with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and innovation.~ Significantly evolved product and technical thinking to a focus on data driven discovery cycles.

~ Manage rotating team of 20 consultants for projects $50M+, helping companies optimize budget, augment staff, and build internal AI / ML Operations systems and robust security frameworks.~ Guided development at environmental sciences firm and reduced costs by 60% /month; launched product platform within 6 months with little prior progress.~ Helped biotech firm build a platform by providing interim CTO consulting and operational security optimization: managed 7 developers and architected a blockchain system to help pharmaceutical companies cut 30% of $20B budget off of molecule development.

~ Managed 10+ employees and a budget of $1.7M; built early green energy based cryptocurrency mining solutions using wind farms.~ Architected and deployed entire backend of software and hardware for a high-security private cloud infrastructure focused on blockchain and cryptocurrency; executed large scale implementation of 100% growth month on month for six months, followed by an acquisition.~ Managed the development of Crypto (Token) custody solutions~ Managed Crypto mining farms based on Green Energy inputs~ Developed early technology for tokenizing Green Energy inputs.

~ Oversaw the AI/ML, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency consulting practices of Core Convergence, which was primarily focused at the intersection of Scientific endeavor and the technologies surrounding AI and Blockchain.~ Oversaw the deployment of dozens of AI and Blockchain platforms and products in a variety of industries, including biotech, logistics, asset tokenization, and DeFi.

~ Freelanced in the San Francisco area as a part time CTO and Board level technical adviser.~ Advised Board of Director level organizations, augmenting technical assessment teams, technical decision support for investment.~ Technical advisor to funding organization in management of portfolio companies.~ Advised Startups that had not found a full time CTO.~ Advised organizations that need technology direction, but didn't feel they needed a full time CTO.~ Advised fast growing startups that had full time CTOs who are being stretched by the success of their organizations and needed help to get through a growth spurt.~ Advised Startups that had a development focused CTO who wanted augmentation on the operations side so that the CTO could focus on core product development issues.~ Advised organizations in crisis from rapid growth, rapid decline, or other rapid change, that needed critical intervention to manage a transition in size or scope.~ Although I was San Francisco based, I took clients from all over the world, and traveled frequently to meet the needs of my customers. ~ Advised over 100 organizations at various levels of analysis.

~ Freelanced in the San Francisco area as a part time security consultant and system administrator, mostly for organizations that were exploring, learning, and attempting to get their footing. ~ Led special case and one time projects where intervention was required to stop a project from failing or to capture some new space.~ Advised and acted as "clean up" for organizations that had security incidents.

~ Managed team of 20+ employees and "Build Budget" of $1.3M; resulted in 2 years of 20% month over month growth, servicing customers including VMware and Atomic.VC.~ Partnered with Google to provide the first PostgreSQL managed relational database service inside Google Cloud; resulted in company acquisition by PE firm.~ Architected back end operational systems and created structures that guided Postgres tuning, managed cloud resources, and structured support team.

~ Managed team of 12 and a budget of $3M leading architecture, global deployment, and scale of GEOSpatial PaaS for AT&T and Verizon.~ Guided technical aspects of ZOS Mobile Location PaaS and APIs, including operational infrastructure, security, R&D, development, QA, staging, and production.~ Advised executive team through several funding events and through the transition of the executive team.

~ Led 6 infrastructure engineers and a budget of $2M for the largest distributed work platform in the world. Drove scaling, reliability, and security across a suite of applications with millions of users.~ Improved organization-wide performance from 2 hours of daily downtime and <90% platform availability to 99.99% availability, resulting in establishment of fundamental DevOps systems and processes and ultimate investment by Microsoft and acquisition by Appen as an AI / ML platform.~ Advised organization on a wide array of operational and scaling issues.

~ Managed team of ~20 engineers and an annual budget of $2-$10M; developed next generation cloud computing environment and operational infrastructure including R&D, QA, and production. ~ Converted customers and internal infrastructure into cloud computing, achieved 60% reduction in costs across a total managed infrastructure spend of $50M.~ Responsible for developing a "next generation" cloud computing environment and associated operational infrastructure, including R&D (Lab), Development, QA, Staging, and Production life cycle systems. ~ Overall management responsibilities include Development, Operations, and Security of all systems, including guidance for all Scientific efforts and initiatives for Hive Mind's diverse portfolio of Scientifically based research projects, including projects in AI / Machine Learning.

~ Responsible for design and implementation of the Cloud Infrastructure, data transfer, security management, and data storage components of a large scale analysis and monetization platform for application data. ~ Included early machine learning models for sentiment analysis. ~ Advised and managed the company from formation, through funding, pivots, and eventual shutdown.

~ Managed 52 internal engineers (running average), hundreds of external engineers, and $100M+ in project budgets. ~ Securely and efficiently scaled 100,000+ virtualized Linux systems, and built large "lights out" data centers. ~ Built and operationalized labs through which all Linux solutions were designed, tested, and built before managing global deployment of those solutions with a “Big 5” consulting firm. ~ Built and managed first firewall solution for a “”Big 5” consulting firm and moved them from a non-internet environment to an internet company, resulting in billions of transactions globally into the present.~ First commercial Linux support and implementation for IBM LotusNotes; resulted in global deployment with millions of end users.~ Original developer of a “Big 5” consulting firm’s internal toolset, built the tool and trained/transitioned staff internally to take over deployment of tool globally.~ First firewall deployment and conversion to internet connection for All Children’s Hospital, one of the largest children’s hospitals in the world; enabled electronic medical record solutions. ~ Ran one of the world’s first integrated technology incubators with funding, desk space, access to advisors, and shared engineering resources. ~ Incubated 50+ companies and helped hundreds of entrepreneurs launch products with a $10M+ in budgets. Ran for over 12 years.~ Served as Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) for NKS' incubation program. After founding NKS and building initial infrastructure, led product development, engineering, security, and system administration. ~ Built domain name registration system for Time Warner Cable (later Spectrum).

~ Responsible for leading all product development efforts. ~ Focus was perfecting rapid development methodology and building a suite of development tools that produce high quality, secure, and efficient applications. ~ Primary platforms: Linux, Solaris 10, OpenSolaris, OS X, iPhone, Android. Primary languages: Perl, Java, Ruby, C, AJAX, Objective-C (and most other things Apple...)~ Developed early machine learning models for code management.~ Managed and advised the organization from formation through acquisition.

~ Managed a team 55 staff and 12+ partners, building early research labs producing genetically engineered algae for BioFuels.~ Developed early machine learning systems for optimization of genetic sequencing. ~ Managed $77.5M total deal flow.~ Product lead for control infrastructure based on open Internet standards and Open Source software (vs. the traditional SCADA model).~ Product lead for energy trading platforms.~ Led team from formation through acquisition.

~ Team Lead, Engineer, and Security Analyst on 100+ projects that included hosting, data center construction, Internet backbone construction, networking, firewall/VPN/Authentication technologies, and system administration. ~ Lead on much of the early work in Internet security and pioneered many Internet security platforms and initiatives.

~ Owner and President of a Security Consulting and hardware manufacturing firm. Responsible for all operations.~ Lead Designer and Engineer on multiple Data Center build projects, shipping 10,000+ early Internet connected servers. ~ Lead Designer and Engineer on multiple Internet infrastructure projects, building 1000+ early Internet connections.~ Guided team from formation through acquisition.

~ Co-founded the world’s first web advertising firm at scale; managed 8 engineers and grew clientele from 0 to 450 (incl. Disney and All Children’s Hospital).~ For *all* of our customers, this was their *first* website, and often the first time they'd heard of the Internet.~ Managed all aspects of growing the technology, network, hosting, security, and infrastructure. ~ Functioned as lead systems administrator and lead network administrator. ~ Advised executive leadership on technology and operations process from inception through acquisition.

During my time at USF, I held many positions as a Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Graduate Assistant. I also taught several semesters as primary instructor. I was primarily hired for skills in: Machine Vision, Machine Learning, Psychoneuropharmacology, Psychology, Information Processing Systems, Networking, Programming, Mathematics and Statistics.
