Mr Ebrima Cham is a UK trained Chartered Civil Engineer, a Chartered Structural Engineer, a Project Management Specialist, a Procurement Specialist and a Development Specialist. Mr Cham is currently the Director General of the Gambian Agency for the Management of Public Works (GAMWORKS). The Agency implements development projects on behalf of the Government of The Gambia and Development Partners such as the Islamic Development Bank, the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). Mr Cham is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Gambia Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA). Mr Cham is also Past President of the African Association of Public Works Executing Agencies (AFRICATIP). Mr Ebrima Cham was a British Council Scholar and studied Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds, England, before joining Consulting Engineers OVE ARUP & PARTNERS, London. Mr Cham rose to the position of Associate in ARUP before he returned to The Gambia in 2004 to head GAMWORKS.
