Ebtisam is a social and community-driven technical researcher with a focus on human-centric design, and an experienced Assistant Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Her current role also includes being the founder and leader of the ArabHCI community, and the Director of Consulting Services Department (CSD) at AI Center of Advanced Studies (AICAS). She led STEM initiative to promote computer science careers in Saudi Arabia; and has been honored with Teaching and Advising Excellence Award (three times) and the Excellence in Research Award. Beside that she is an active professional member with a history of volunteer work with the ACM SIGCHI, which is the leading international community of professionals interested in research, education and the practical application of HCI. She has earned a Ph.D. from Newcastle University in Computing Science, and interested in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), UX, Social Computing and Innovation, CSCW, Interaction and Participatory Design. Her strengths include technical leadership, strategic planning, design thinking and driving innovation.
