My name is Ebun Nazon-Power and I graduated from Hampshire College in May 2019 with a BA in Visual Arts/Culture and Black Diaspora cultural studies. As a creative individual, I am drawn to work that is centered around visual culture and education. I have a strong interest in working in the art world and creating space for communities of color to transform their lives and wellbeing through the process of art making.I have administrative experience through working as a communications intern at the Civil Liberties and Public Policy non profit. I am proficient in Microsoft Word, Pages, PowerPoint, and have worked with InDesign and AutoCAD. I have also interned at a 501(c)3 called The Peace Development Fund where I was responsible for reaching out to grassroots organizers and conducting interviews over the phone. I was also responsible for mailing cards and merchandise to organizations. Additionally, I was an integral part of the grant cycle process wherein my opinions, knowledge, and research were seen as valuable information. I have been a Teacher’s Assistant for visual culture classes (Cannibalism and Art, Contemporary Latin Films). As a TA I took care of administrative tasks including maintaining organization in classrooms, maintaining communication with students and faculty, and acting as a liaison for visiting artists. .I have worked with youth mostly through childcare, day and sleep-away camps, and a film program called See Hear Feel Film. I have worked at Odyssey Teen Camp as well as Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls where I helped create a safe, fun and supportive container for children to produce art and music as a collectiveI co-founded and organized a day long feminist art event called Grrrl Fest. This event was held in Brooklyn. I reached out to sponsors and artists, organized a large group of volunteers, and helped coordinate public relations for the event. I created art for this festival and performed with my band at the time called T-Rextasy.
