About Eamonn Carey
I’m an early stage investor in, and board member for companies across the US, Europe and Asia. I'm a General Partner at Tera Ventures, and previously spun up The Fund in Europe, as well as running Techstars accelerator programs in London and New York. My first book, The Startup Lexicon, came out in June 2022. I’ve invested in over 100 companies around the world - from AI to gaming and from drones to consumer products. Before all of that, I was a founder - starting, scaling, (occasionally) succeeding and failing around Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia. Outside of all of that, I'm an author and regular speaker at conferences around the world - including Web Summit, Collision, SXSW, Mobile World Congress, Slush, Slush Tokyo, Turing Fest, Pioneers, Tech Open Air, the Pirate Summit, Arabnet, GITEX, the Global Apps Summit, the Mobile Games Forum and many others.

At its height, Farmvillain, our biggest app had well over a million users and 100,000+ fans on Facebook who literally used to write us fan mail. We even received a legal threat from Chuck Norris.After those dizzying highs, the game was acquired by Jolt Games/Gamestop. -

Random Thoughts also produced 'The Snug' for O2 mobile and online customers for the duration of the 6 Nations Rugby tournament as well as for eircom, RTE, Leinster Rugby and many others. In 2006, we were nominated for a Content 360 Award at the MIPTV festival in Cannes for our 'Streetskills' proposal. Perhaps surprisingly, the concept was optioned by a company in Korea.
