Leading Caribou's Digital team within the company's marketing organization, I ensure my team of developers and product managers are creating the right solutions as the company and customer evolve. This is done through our mobile apps, websites, and third-party integrations. My role at Best Buy involved three responsibilities:#1 - Product Lead for Best Buy's External APIs (the way Best Buy shows up on WellsFargo.com and Airport Kiosks)Best Buy had a public API for nearly a decade, and the system was no longer profitable while having large upkeep expenses. By redesigning the team, the program and the technology stack, we made the system sustainable and profitable - while improving the company's image in the education and open source communities.#2 - Lead of the Digital Innovation LabsBest Buy's equivalent of Lockheed's "Skunk Works", this is the area where Best Buy execs would go to say "how could we build..." and find a quick answer. From chatbots to "right size TV" augmented reality, we constantly created prototypes of the digital and physical variety to help company leadership make the right decisions for the company's technical investments.#3 - Liaison for the Startup CommunityWhether this meant speaking at events, advocating for participating in conferences such as Open Source North and Grace Hopper and Startup Weekend, educating about the benfits of Inner Source, and ensuring Best Buy's partnership with the Minnestar organization put the community first, it was always a pleasure to help the "corporate" employees of Best Buy connect with the worldwide startup community and learn that we all have lessons to learn from each other.

I joined TrackIf at Employee #1 when it was a Startup Incubator, and I designed the technology stack to enable the founder's vision. My work involved software development, hiring and mentoring of developers, agile sprint planning, collaborating Sales on feature development, and supporting of customers (both B2C and B2B channels).
