Andy has been building his career and specialties around digital marketing and social media business for years. At Storysmith, a digital business consultancy and content marketing agency he founded, Andy established digital transformation strategies and business strategies for the largest brands in Korea. At CJ ENM, he led South Korea's largest media conglomerate's digital business expansion and its overarching marketing strategy. At Cheil Worldwide and Edelman Digital, he initiated various successful digital campaigns for Samsung. Some of them are "Corporate Newsroom" (I.e., brand journalism), early social media marketing, and viral campaigns, from which he won multiple awards from Cannes, D&AD, LIA, and Effie.Andy's goal is to truly leverage "consumer power" in the digital marketing world and to establish a new marketing model that validates a people-driven, data-driven, content-driven marketing process. He received a Master's(1998) and a PhD(2003) in interactive advertising from Michigan State University. His dissertation investigated the core traits of digital communication to examine how "user interactions" can change the conventional flow of marketing. It won the Best Dissertation Award from the American Academy of Advertising.Currently, he works at Sungkyunkwan University in Korea as a professor.
