As a Estimator for R.G. Huston Company. My primary tasks included estimating and budgeting projects from small site developments to multi-million dollar public heavy highway and private large warehouse site projects. I also help effectively handle the submittal and construction process for complex projects with subcontractor management and/or coordination. I was part of a staff at R.G. Huston that was known for and continues to complete complicated time sensitive projects that include, earthwork, aggregates, onsite crushing, sewer, water, and storm construction on time and on budget.Project Types and Work included but is not limited to:Common Excavation and Site Balance - Limit importing or haul off (trucking) of material by balancing onsite cuts and fills, including reviewing onsite material exchange options for structural fill, general fill and/or to elimate material haul off costs.Review costs and types of temporary shoring alternatives, access, and sloping to create safe work environments meeting OSHA standards.Hard bid public and private lump sum and/or unit price work, including helping scoping projects from early budgets to final bids. Also, negociated lump sum private work, after helping from preliminary budgeting and design.Reviewed contracts for liability clauses, scope of work, contract times, current contract documents and plans, and other information relavent to the completion of the work. In addition, I also helped quickly faciliate the exchange of insurance information.Handle all plumbing permits, help with most permits at many Municiapalities and Public Agencies for all types. Also work on permitting the Conditional Uses of Sites, including dump sites, borrow sites, aggregate uses, demolitions, and a Wisconsin DNR compost site.Helped develop R.G. Huston Compost and Engineered Soil Mix designs, including testing products, mix designs, chemical composition, meet S100 specifications with different feed stocks and weather patterns.

I was an entry level engineer at MSA and my primary task was observing and documenting an over $10 million dollar ARRA funded construction of a low-pressure sanitary sewer forcemain project in Parkland, WI. The project consists of over 150,000 LF of HDPE pipe, with approximately 330 service connections and grinder pumps with SCADA monitoring system, 75 manholes, 4 lift stations, and a detention basin.The project was unique in providing residents with an project alternative that limited ground disturbance, a solution to their unique project site (200' of clay), and provided real time metering and monitoring to the Utility District for planning, billing, and maintenance. Worked with residents to determine best and final location of their grinder pump in the field.Handled weekly meetings and final project documentation at end of project, working with Utility District, Contractor, Sub-Contractors how to handle and turn over operations of system.

I completed a summer internship (2008) and co-op (Jan 2009 - Aug 2009) for Foth Companies in Milwaukee, WI.
