At The Trust for Public Land, we're creating parks and protecting land for people. I identified and pursued local, state, and federal funding opportunities in Washington and Oregon. To do so, I advised on program policies, coordinated on project development, and wrote successful applications. The Basel Action Network (BAN) advocates for a future where toxic electronic waste and end-of-life ships are responsibly recycled. I helped ensure we had the resources we needed to safeguard human and environmental health from toxic waste.I created a grantseeking program from the ground up. I wrote successful proposals and letters of inquiry, planned a comprehensive annual schedule, responded to new opportunities despite tight deadlines, researched innovative program and problem angles, tracked proposals and reports, and connected with new funders. In total, I raised $282,000 from foundations, corporations, and major donors ($245,000 in grants).

The Institute for Environmental Learning is a dynamic network of environmental educators. My first task was to turn a bare-bones website into an informative and useful website. Quickly learning about the evolving organization and its history, I put together a creative brief/strategic plan and wrote new content for 10 webpages. I also led and implemented a new social media strategy for Twitter and Facebook. In addition, I coordinated quarterly meetings, networking receptions, and a professional development day.

CHFCA is the collective voice of the hydrogen and fuel cell industry. I coordinated colleagues, a web developer, and web designer to create a new website. I authored much of the site's new content, including an easy-to-understand, eight-page Education Centre for the public.

Living Oceans Society is the leader in the effort to protect Canada’s oceans. In the temporary role, I planned and executed a public engagement blogging contest called "The Way I Sea It." Hugely successful, we surpassed our goal of garnering 1,500 new supporters by almost 15%. To to this, I secured sponsorship for the prize, formulated and implemented the marketing plan, and liaised with bloggers for promotion.

Lunapads is a woman-owned business working at the intersection of women's issues and environmental sustainability. My role here was to experiment with media relations and raise awareness of Lunapads, personal hygiene waste issues, and their amazing Pads4Girls charity project. I wrote compelling press releases, media kits, blog posts, and other promotional copy. I earned press coverage in 2 newspapers, 3 national websites, and 1 podcast. I also wrote the winning nomination for the Better Business Bureau’s Green Torch Award.

As part of the Pew Charitable Trust's International Boreal Conservation Campaign, the Canadian Boreal Initiative advocated for forest conservation and sustainable development. In addition to daily administrative tasks, I drafted opinion editorials, briefs, letters of support, and award nominations. I edited letters, reports, and presentations, and oversaw the design, production, and printing of reports and brochures.My biggest achievement was project-managing three successful Boreal Awards galas for over 100 high-profile attendees with a budget of $20,000 each. I selected event contractors; obtained sponsorship and donations; drafted promotional materials and award ceremony speeches; oversaw design and printing of event materials; managed event set up, execution, and clean up; and thanked sponsors.
