Armed with two degrees in textiles, I began my career in the textile industry as a weaving manager in 1996 in India’s biggest mill then called Birla Century Mill, where I managed its air-jet weaving department weaving home & apparel textilesIn Oct 1997 I joined ‘Design Origin India Pvt. Ltd.’, a New Textiles Product & Materials Development Design & Consulting Studio that I ran till Apr 2006. Here I designed (and marketed) new textile materials & product development for the biggest apparel exporters and brands & then drove its sales & marketing to the apparel exporters & brands of the world.In Oct 1998 I joined India’s first textiles & travel technology company ‘Web-logic Corporation’ and worked here till May 2002. Here we built the India’s first textiles technology firm that built the world’s first digital textile platform to digitise and sell textile surface designs for surface design market on the internet in 1999-2000. Later we built the world's first SaaS based travel wholesale management system in 2002, India's first CTI enabled CRM software for HNI banking in 2001 and the first SaaS based CRS system for hotels in 2002. In Jan 2000 I joined 'Ecomantra Nature Adventures Pvt. Ltd’, one of India’s first sustainable ecotourism company that designs eco journeys & expeditions. From 2004 to 2015, operated Maharashtra's first eco-friendly adventure campsite Rivertrail Eco-camp selling unique adventure-filled holidays.In Dec 2012 I joined ‘Trip Origin Resorts & Hotels LLP. Here we built, operate & marketed Lotus Beach Resort at Dapoli from 2012 to 2018. I also began heritage electric tours and rides on Segways at Jaipur under Jaipur Differently brand.Since 2022, I design unique luxury holidays which are sustainable as well under the brand name Luxexplore.
