Over the past 17 years in the development and trade industry, I have amassed a wealth of experience by working across both public and private sectors. My role involved close collaboration with local charity associations and NGOs addressing diverse developmental and environmental issues, such as education, climate change, poverty alleviation, and refugee support. Additionally, I have worked with several international and UN organizations focused on trade development, including ITC, ILO, UNCTAD, UNIDO, UNDP, the African Union Commission (AUC), International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), COMCEC, the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation and the AfCFTA Secretariat.I consistently strive to deliver excellence in all my endeavors, fostering teamwork to achieve our objectives. Senior Trade Policy Analyst, Africa Dept.Ministry Of Investment And Foreign Trade Jan 2015 - PresentEgypt• Representing Egypt in many AfCFTA meetings throughout the negotiations and implementation processes of the Agreement on the Negotiations Forum and Senior Trade Officials levels.• The National Focal Point for the AfCFTA Online Mechanism for Reporting, Monitoring and Eliminating NTBs.• Taking part in the decision-making process through preparing supportive trade and trade-related studies and analysis, for instance, conducting a study for evaluating the establishment of a RORO Maritime Shipping Line between Egypt and East of Africa;• Working with the AfCFTA National Negotiations Team in preparing the national positions, communicating with the African Union Commission (AUC), coordinating between various concerned stakeholders and actors (both public and private), taking part in the national consultations process, and convening the public awareness seminars;• Coordinating between the different national interested authorities and stakeholders for preparing the national trade technical positions comply with the national interests throughout Phase I of negotiations on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA); and• Assisting in preparing and formulating the national positions with respect to the trade sphere in order to support the Presidential Office with the latest Egypt-Africa trade developments during participation in the African Union Summits. -
Senior Trade Policy Analyst, Comcec And D-8 Dept.Ministry Of Investment And Foreign Trade Jan 2012 - PresentEgypt• Cooperating within a team working on preparing the national positions required to be adopted throughout the trade negotiation process amongst the D-8 MS, currently on D-8 PTA Agreement, for the sake of enhancing trade cooperation between these countries; • Evaluating the projects proposed by the national trade-related entities and authorities to be introduced under umbrella of the funded Project Cycle Mechanism (PCM) of the COMCEC Strategy, as well as following up and monitoring the implementation of these Egypt-COMCEC projects, for instance, the OIC/COMCEC Arab-African Industrial Enterprise Network (AAIEN) Project proposed and successfully short-listed in 2013 and implemented by IMC; • Serving as a liaison between the national trade and industrial oriented public stakeholders the other Member States in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and in the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, in order to enhance collaboration amongst them, especially through facilitating capacity building pertaining to trade cooperation; namely, Trade Facilitation, Trade Financing and Trade Promotion; and• Taking part in the national consultation process and spreading awareness sessions relevant to the D-8 Preferential Trade Agreement (D8 PTA), and the COMCEC PRETAS Agreement. -
