Established and matured the company’s engineering organization from the startup phase to acquisition. This included leading the team’s evolution from one focused on rapid, iterative prototyping to demonstrate concept feasibility to a mature team able to advance concepts to a production-ready codebase. Successfully delivered versions 7.x – 9.x of the product line during this time.

Served as the Software Engineering Director for the NetWitness product team of ManTech. Led and managed all aspects of software engineering, design, testing and product packaging.As Director of Professional Services, served as Program Manager for multiple cost-reimbursable contracts implementing network forensics/investigative and security monitoring technology for federal requirements. Oversaw all aspects of the contracts including solution design, development, implementation, cost controls, and customer training.

Designed and developed custom web based network forensics analysis tools in C. Implemented a data warehousing solution for a 3-tier Web enabled system, utilizing Sybase Adaptive Server 11.5 for online analytical processing and Sybase IQ for decision support. This project served as the initial development and implementation of the first version of technology that was later adapted to become the core of the NetWitness product line.Developed a web-based invoicing and reporting capability to facilitate invoice payment status queries against federal accounting data using Microsoft web-technologies. Architected a decision support data warehousing solution for financial reporting against federal accounting data, involving integration of third party COTS ETL tools and the MicroStrategy DSS engine against an Oracle/Digital Unix data repository. Provided consultation on Oracle engineering and development techniques for customer’s accounting systems implementation teams.Provided database engineering, system integration, and software engineering for a SmallTalk-based data analysis system. Planned and implemented the data migration from Sybase 4.9 to Sybase 11. Provided LAN engineering, operational support, and administration for a 120 user, multi-platform (Solaris/Sun, OS/2/PC, and MacOS/Power PC) LAN in support of the US intelligence community.
