The Lyle Torrant Center is a public school operated by the Jackson County Intermediate School District serving youth with developmental disabilities, including: Cognitively Impaired (CI), Severely Multiply Impaired (SXI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Early Childhood Developmentally Delayed (ECDD). Students range in age from birth to 26 years. The role of instructors is to guide students in the development of their living, social and communication skills necessary in reaching their full independence at home and within the greater community. Instructors are assisted by the services of a speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, school social worker, school psychologist, school nurse, audiologist and teacher consultants as needed.
