Building QA function from the ground up, following Agile methodology. Working with Jira and Confluence to define testing processes and establish testing principles. Introducing Cypress.io as our UI test tool of choice and building tests in Cypress to start creating our regression test suite. Using Newman and Postman to run API tests Configuring Jenkins to run automated tests.

Senior IT QA utilising Scrum Methodology.As a member of the IG IT QA team I have worked in a number of different teams, in a number of different business areas including NADEX, Salesforce and iOS teams. Because of my experience gained across these areas, and my contribution to the team, I was invited to join as a Senior IT QA on a high-profile business-wide Customer User Experience Improvement project.Working within a Scrum team using JIRA to manage priorities within all roles I held, I was an active contributor in Scrum Grooming and Planning sessions, I was involved in Story Creation and Backlog Management as well raising defects as a result of testing.

Leading a team of 4 QAs I was responsible for the day to day running of the QA team. This included assigning tasks in JIRA, writing test plans, meeting with senior developers and the development manager to plan tasks for future sprints, identifying training requirements for members of my team and dealing with recruitment (advertising, interviewing and dealing with HR). I also continued with day to day manual testing of the company’s web, mobile and software products across multiple browsers, operating systems and mobile devices, logging any issues discovered in JIRA and helping with customer support queries. My role required me to liaise with members of the public, members of senior management and developers within the department.

As QA I was responsible for testing and reviewing corporate customer facing web properties and applications in order to ensure that quality is maintained across all platforms. This involved testing new and existing functionality across multiple browsers and operating systems and mobile devices, logging any issues discovered in JIRA and also querying and updating a Postgres SQL database. My role also involved reviewing automated tests and if there are failed tests determining whether the failure is caused by new code being added or issues with the tests. The tests were run using Jenkins and were written in Cucumber. I regularly attended planning meetings with the development team and business analysts to advise on the best way to implement requirements passed to the team via key stakeholders. I had been assigned to various fault finding projects due my methodical approach to the role of QA.

My previous full time employed position was System Engineer looking after Windows servers and the Active Directory and Exchange 2010 environments.
