I have been a part of several outstanding teams throughout my career and the success of our team has always been what motivates me and gives me energy. As the Production Manager at Honda Racing (HPD) our team was responsible for making parts, buying parts, building the engines, and shipping them on time. In racing “winning” was easy for the whole world see, but it is not always quite as evident in other industries/roles. I am incredibly focused on solving complex problems, leveraging relationships and utilizing lean resources efficiently, by applying root cause analysis so that my team “wins”. Those teams can and do include internal associates and external partners, like the incredible supply base across 4 very different sectors that I have worked with over the years - automotive mass production, ultraprecision racing, high-performance marine, and most recently, incredibly nimble, and creative low volume & prototype suppliers. Cost analysis and value improvement are at the core some of my biggest strengths, and I have learned that the best track to success in these areas is finding solutions that not only work for my organization, but also benefit our suppliers. I value and promote supplier relationships, and understand that our savings, efficiencies and success are with their support and efforts. I am not afraid to make difficult decisions, and I have a proven track record of Team Selection, People Development, and Organizational Restructuring that improved the results and efficiency of my team and the company while at Honda Racing (HPD), Ilmor Marine, and Honda R&D Americas.
