Lead planning effort to transition Permian Resources from a vertical well development focus to an unconventional horizontal drilling focus. Created 2015+ plan to exceed company objectives. Created 7 year inventory of projects at flat capital better than threshold returns at <$50 dollar WTI.

Oversee Oxy Reserves Preparation for the Americas and JV International Projects. Encourage beginning of the year reserves planning as part of the business planning process resulting in improved overall company performance.

Profitably ramped up development capital activity from 100 million per year to over 400 million dollars per year over a four year period. Supported successful business development activities for transactions exceeding 1 billion dollars. Organic field development results were 180% RRR at an F&D < $11.50 per boe while growing production from 20 to 38 mboepd. Built AD organization from 50 to 90 professionals over the period. Projects contained unconventional Hz drlg multi stage fracs, gas field redevelopment, water flood expansion and reconfiguration, and steam flood expansions in Kern County, SAC Valley, Ventura and LA Basin. Managed portfolio of projects with 80% high confidence development and 20% high potential value added appraisal or pilots.

Initiate first two phases of the La Cira Infantas JV project with Ecopetrol and develop growth strategy for OxyColombia. Project grew from 5000 bopd to 10,000 bopd while I participated, later subsequent production peaked at 45,000 bopd in line with original project expectations.

Managed team of 134 and assets with 40,000 boepd during startup of new organization, tripled historical capex and drilled over 100 wells, built cohesive team, achieved all 2000 goal and objectives.

Greater Los Angeles Area

Director in Oxy’s Los Angeles Corporate office assigned to a newly created Oil and Gas financial planning and analysis department. Role was to assist SVP with developing improved business planning processes to enable better overall business performance. Modeled MENA PSCs. Additionally, lead or participated in several material business development/divestiture projects. Specifically lead the ~3.6 billion dollar Altura acquisition technical team from data room through close/startup including LA Exec. management presentations. Built sale evaluation economic model and sale evaluation for Oxy’s interest in Nexen ( CanOxy) - +700mm/7 Countries.

Midland Texas And Bakersfield California

Designed, staffed, and managed Oxy’s Heavy Oil Team. The asset team consisted of 35 technical, finance, and operations personnel managing 10 mbopd. Averaged 10% annual YOY production growth for period with 35% overall reduction in unit operating costs. 1998 operations were income positive. Operations consisted of company operated and non-operated heavy oil assets in California and BP operated assets in Alaska. Expanded heavy oil acreage through multiple party like kind exchanges enhancing consolidated position in Kern Front Field.

Engineering Manager for 2 years and Region Reservoir Engineer for 4 years. Engineering manager role was responsible for 37 professionals pertaining to reservoir engineering, facilities engineering, procurement, corrosion, regulatory affairs, and environmental. Reservoir engineering leader role responsible for 10 engineers/technicians and pertained to supporting Region reservoir management teams, managing outside operations, and conducting reservoir simulation studies for thermal, CO2 and Waterflooding IOR projects. Lead Oxy/DOE project effort for cyclic CO2 and continuous CO2 injection at West Welch. Built Oxy CO2 5 year plan and supported its execution.
