I have the privilege of launching the planned giving program at this comprehensive university of 2,000. Begun in 1968, MVNU serves students from across the country and around the world, and is supported by the Church of the Nazarene districts of Ohio, West Virginia and eastern Kentucky.

Retired on June 30, 2023 from this great job leading the gift planning program for this national liberal arts college of 2300 students; managed a team of 3, worked closely with the 50th and post-50th reunions, and with principal, major and annual giving. Total planned gifts raised were $114-million. The team raised $71-million of planned gifts in a $243-million, 6-year campaign that closed June 30, 2020. The campaign goal was $225-million, with $45-million from planned giving. I oversaw planned giving marketing, compliance and stewardship, and personally managed a national portfolio of planned giving donors, traveling extensively.

One of 10 officers of an integrated major and planned giving team in a 50-member division; responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of alumni, parents and friends and working with their professional advisors, traveled extensively. In just over 4 years, raised $12.9-million of new outright and deferred gifts towards a comprehensive campaign. Collaborated with and mentored other gift officers. Oversaw the College's 600-member legacy society and related stewardship activities. Led state registration process for charitable gift annuity program. Served as development liaison to the music conservatory and library. Led the drafting of an institutional gift acceptance policy with officers and staff from the finance and development divisions.

Established the gift planning program for this foundation supporting Riley Hospital for Children, a nationally recognized hospital and research center. Developed a business and marketing plan within a complex multi-corporation, non-profit healthcare and school of medicine environment; initiated contacts and developed relationships with donors, physicians, attorneys, CPAs, financial planners and other advisors throughout Indiana. Implemented a successful monthly financial matters forum for physicians at Riley Hospital for Children.

Key officer on a team which raised $75 million in a $52 million goal capital campaign. The college’s first planned giving officer. Established and nurtured donor and professional advisor relationships, solicited major outright and deferred gifts, more than doubling annual planned gift receipts. Increased the number of bequest plans on record from 57 to 361, representing more than $20 million in expectancies.
