About Ed Cook, Phd

I want to bring joy back to work, and with the COVID-19 running rampant across the globe we have all had to learn that some of the "at Work" needs to be "at Home." I love the power of teams but recognize they can be challenging. But working remotely is an opportunity to rethink what we mean by a powerful team. Being remote is different, but it is still possible to achieve Joy at Work. The world has changed. We need to manage that change and we can make remote work and virtual interaction a part of achieving Joy at Work. The goal is a lasting transformation so that the team continually strengthens with every challenge. This is true in business or the military, but also for The Change Decision a consultancy that guides leaders through the process of improving their teams' performance by nailing group decision-making and then making the change management stick. This is the path to team transformation.Visiting Professor teaching "Information and Analytics" and “Decision Analytics” at the University of Richmond for MBAs. Also teaching “Data and Information” for undergrads.Extensive experience in corporate transformation including bank and telecommunications acquisitions and the difficult post-merger integration. Have handled complex process, product, and system rollouts, but more importantly the cultural aspects. I have led large teams to implement multi-million-dollar changes, but have created success by creative change management. That has been the key factor to make it work.As a pilot in the US Navy, I had 2500 flight hours and over 700 aircraft carrier landings. The culmination of my military service was driving nation-building activities with the Government of Iraq while I was mobilized. Ultimately driving a $5B piece of legislation creating micro-loans and building projects. For these efforts, I was the Bronze Star.Chair of the Board of two nonprofits aimed at engaging children and teens in art and writing. Also, experience with several other nonprofits in guiding them through strategic planning.Specialties: ►Team Transformation & Team Performance►Analytics ►Data Science►Acquisitions Integration►Technology roll-outs►Nonprofit Board Management►Flying
