It is important to make a difference in the lives of students every single day. As a former practicing superintendent and administrator, I believe opportunities for improving student success abound for all socio-economic backgrounds. The focus should be on supporting students with programs and services to achieve their individual potential and help them fulfill their life's endeavors. This is accomplished by providing students a myriad of rich educational and life experiences so they can grow and become contributing members of our community and society. Today, my current focus as a retired superintendent is working with dedicated and committed individuals seeking to advance their administrative careers. Our country’s educational system needs brave, courageous administrators to fill the shoes of retiring superintendents throughout our great nation. It is my mission to assist those interested in moving forward with their quest to lead and guide district staff to provide students the very best education possible! If you are interested in working together to increase your opportunities to advance to the next level in your administrative career, contact me to schedule a consultation virtual meeting. Please email me at edcora.consulting@gmail.com or send a request through Messenger. Thank you.

SuperintendentGuadalupe Union School District Jul 2011 - Jun 2018The Guadalupe Union School District is located in Northern Santa Barbara County and is approximately eight miles west of the city of Santa Maria and just five miles from the Guadalupe Dunes and Beach. The city of Guadalupe has a population of more than 8,000 residents. Over the last six years, the school district has undergone many positive changes which include establishing a developmental bilingual education program, instituting facility remediations and improvements, and increasing student services through additional targeted staffing. During this period, the Guadalupe Kids Come First foundation was established with the mission of supporting academic, cultural and athletic programs for students. As the student population continues to increase, a new junior high school is planned within three to four years. Two General Obligation Bonds passed (Measure M passed by 78% and Measure N by 76%) in the November 2016 election, totaling $11.5 million which will be used to build a new gymnasium, to remediate and renovate facilities, and to add additional classrooms at our junior high school where additional growth is expected from new housing in the community (see Santa Maria times story: 'Guadalupe Bond Measures,' below).
