Fuel Cell Stack 4/2017 to 5/2022On a prototype, next generation, fuel-cell stack, I identified multiple manufacturability issues. One of my contributions was a redesigned sealing method for cost containment and manufacturability. Also, I Identified a manufacturing technique, adiabatic forming, to achieve quality and cost targets for formed metal bipolar.

Electro-chemical Hydrogen Compressor 8/2011 to 7/2015 (3 year 11 months)I was a member of a small project team, which developed an electrochemical hydrogen compressor based on PEM technology and capable of 875 BAR. To the best of our knowledge this was the world’s first commercially viable electro-chemical hydrogen compressor. We developed a laboratory.

Available for companies who need help phasing product out of the prototype stage into pre-production and production, designing products for manufacturability, supply chain management, value engineering and general mechanical engineering functions.

Responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering functions reporting to V.P. Mfg. Primary duties included; generation/editing of manufacturing procedures, supply chain management and MRP; liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Marketing. Initiated and implemented cost reduction project for legacy product; reduced material cost while improving.

Designed new BGA solder re-work stations and improvements of existing stations. Established and maintained a part numbering system and MRP system to support inventory control and cost accounting. Responsible for re-design of beta machine for production. Designed and manufactured components and casting patterns for a wide variety of machines. Interfaced.

Designed, manufactured and procured components and assemblies for use in proprietary laser metal deposition equipment, in a start-up environment. Performed experiments, conducted analysis and made recommendations for system enhancements. Created a small metallography laboratory and wrote associated procedures. Provided expertise in machining operations.
