Aug 2005 - Oct 2008Vancouver, Washington, UsNautilus established a World Headquarters in Vancouver, Washington which is where I accepted the role of Senior Design Director and moved myself and my Colorado based team of six Industrial Designers. In addition to my new responsibility of leading the corporate creative team consisting of an Art Director, five Graphic Designers and a Creative Project Manager, I continued to grow the Industrial Design team. My team and I launched countless commercial grade strength products under the Nautilus brand, commercial cardio products under the Stairmaster brand and a wide variety of retail products under Schwinn and Universal brands. We did all of this while keeping the innovation flowing into our Bowflex portfolio with several direct-to-consumer product launches. I lead the creative team during the development of promotional materials, new brand guidelines, web assets, printed brochures, and direct infomercials geared toward the success of all product launches.As a result of economic conditions in 2007, the Creative Team was consolidated and moved under our Direct Marketing team. By May of 2008, I maintained responsibility for a smaller Industrial Design team and our Mechanical Engineering team. In 2009, Nautilus had divested many of its brands and consolidated the organization from roughly 1700 employees to just over 300. My role as Senior Design Director was modified to reflect these changes to Director of Industrial Design and my efforts were focused strictly on Industrial Design. It was also during this period that I took a lead role in rebuilding our corporate culture by helping to found the Culture Club. Our mission was simply to bring our people together. -
