I currently work as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic in the mining industry. I perform minor and major maintenance on large-scale heavy-duty mining equipment – dozers, haul trucks, rubber tire dozers, scrapers. I conduct regular preventative maintenance on all equipment. I collaborate with my team and leadership to diagnose maintenance issues, order parts and create a repair plan. I perform regular diagnostic tests, and maintain accurate records on equipment maintained. I hold my Wyoming Foreman’s license, and have been called on to step in and act as shop supervisor as needed. Most recently I have been responsible for helping to train new hires, both in proper procedures, safety practices, and MSHA standards.

I worked as a shop and field mechanic in the oil and gas industry. While in the shop, I had to complete build sheets for industrial engines including parts, cost and labor cost break downs. As a field mechanic I learned to prioritize my work and have a high level of self-motivation to ensure I got all of my assignments done on time and correctly. Another part of being a field mechanic was reporting expenses for the month and managing them to stay in budget. This position required heavy travel, long hours and learning to think on my feet in the field – where I could be miles away from the nearest road – to diagnose and complete repairs.
