Was asked to take over operations at Bennett Pump Company, one of the Hines Corporation companies, for the primary purpose of expanding the plant to allow triple the previous throughput. Temporarily moved to Michigan. The plant was physically expanded, new equipment acquired, and changes in the layout were made to achieve this objective. Continued handling SyteLine development during this timeframe. After this expansion was successfully accomplished I returned to my previous position as Senior Software Developer working from Florida.

Due to a career opportunity for my wife, re-located to Florida which required that I step down as CIO with the IT staff located in Michigan. Since then I travel to company locations to continue leading the rollout of SyteLine/CSI to all of the Hines Corporation companies moving them from various legacy ERP systems to SyteLine. Primary role now is software development on SL 8 and 10 (CSI). Create training plans and conduct the employee training necessary to prepare them for going live on SyteLine. Write and assist company employees write procedures for using SyteLine. Provide guidance on how to best use SyteLine. Write the data conversion software to allow all data to be moved into SyteLine with the objective of turning off the legacy system(s) shortly after go live. Make enhancements and changes to the SyteLine software before and after go live which entails creating new reports and adding custom fields and other like changes.

• Direct IT staff comprised of both employees and consultants. Network engineers and software developers.• Responsible for the selection of a corporate wide ERP system (SyteLine) with 5 year rollout plan. Work closely with each company’s implementation manager on data conversion, customization, training, and business processes.• Responsible for vendor relationships negotiating all contracts and purchases including ERP software, consulting, hardware, network software licensing (CAD, Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix, etc.), data, voice, cell phone, and security systems.• Responsible for setting long and short term strategic direction for all technology related requirements. Develop and maintain multi-year IT budget/forecast.• Directed the building of a private cloud using VMware and Citrix on a Dell server farm with multiple EqualLogic storage area network hardware.• Guided the building of the corporate data center – generator, uninterruptible power system, fire suppression, air conditioning, and physical security.• Design and install wide area network and internet connections utilizing multiple types of connections and data aggregation to ensure no down time.• Created a 2 year plan to consolidate all company computer systems to the cloud with the objective of eliminating 90% of the personal computers replacing them with no maintenance thin clients.• Designer and principle developer for in-house biometric based time and attendance system with interface to payroll. • Lead selection and implementation of a new ERP system (Symix/SyteLine).• With president of the company conduct a management buyout.• Managed hourly workforce and salaried operations personnel at two manufacturing plants.• Oversaw the construction of a new 120,000 square foot building and layout of manufacturing spaces.• Consolidated the two plants into the new facility. Hired complete new work force and managed their training.* Board of directors.
