With over sixteen years in a range of settings within Mental Health Nursing. Have worked right across the board - working in acute mental health for over five years before working with the Community Outreach Team, working with hard to engage service users, in which I was the Care Coordinator and was responsible for ensuring that my service users attended regular CPA/Outpatient appointments with Associate Specialist to making sure that they were in receipt of and were taking oral and depot medication as prescribed. Also responsible for helping service users in their path to recovery by overseeing that their housing and other social benefits were maintained by helping them fill out necessary paperwork and overseeing they attended scheduled appointments. Have also worked in recovery services, care of the elderly in mental health, as well as low secure forensics. At this time I work in low secure and through my links with outside organisations, arrange for service users to attend events through social inclusion initiative. Attend regular training and professional development and I was an Approved Mental Health Professional from 2010-2014 and very much enjoyed this role. I feel that this training and experience in the field has very much developed me both as a person and as a professional. At this time I am looking to complete further training and studies in physical healthcare.
