I am currently the Chief Improvement Officer for BPE (Boston Plan for Excellence), where I lead the organization's efforts to continuously improve how we develop great teachers and great schools for Boston. BPE runs the Boston Teacher Residency program and operates two Boston Public Schools as Teaching Academies (the in-district Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School and the Dearborn STEM Academy). As part of BPEs Senior Leadership Team, I also help shape the organization's strategy and align activities and resources to key goals. From 2004-2010, I was Assistant Professor of Educational Administration at Rutgers University. Prior to that, I was a high school history teacher, founder and director of a nonprofit academic acceleration program for low-income students (Summerbridge Portland), and a summer marketing associate for two educational software companies (Project Achieve and Lightspan, Inc).
