I lead BPE's Data and Improvement Team, which supports and drives continuous improvement throughout BPE’s schools, programs, and organizational activities. I also collaborate with other members of BPE’s Senior Leadership Team to set strategic direction and lead the organization. - Secured $8.3 million in federal funding for BPE and partner organizations by helping conceptualize and write major portions of two grant proposals. Contributed smaller sections to two other grant proposals which together secured $13 million in funding. - Principal Investigator for BPE’s Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) grant from the National Science Foundation (Award No. 1855763; 9/1/2018-8/31/2022).

Conducted research on a variety of topics related to attracting, supporting, and retaining new teachers. Co-authored multiple publications, including the book, "Finders and Keepers: Helping New Teachers Survive and Thrive in Our Schools" (Jossey-Bass, 2004).

Established and directed a comprehensive, tuition-free program that prepared low-income middle school students for success in high school and, ultimately, college. Students were recruited from Portland Public Schools to participate in the program. From 1994-95, also served as Board Member of Summerbridge National, since renamed the Breakthrough Collaborative.
