My business experience is difficult to encapsulate as fate has certainly steered me to many career-altering opportunities. As I have often stated, there is no "one thing" that could be used to identify a specific career path, but I have been able to show a successful track record in over forty years of work experience by innovative thinking and application of skills.Following the Marine Corps I spent 20+ years in the automotive aftermarket industry in a variety of positions ranging from sales, sales management, marketing, corporate management, working with OEM's, publishing an industry news magazine, authoring an educational book on unibody construction, and pioneering legislation on the full-disclosure use on non-OEM aftermarket parts in the repair industry. My three biggest successes were in reaching landmark sales increases with a subsidiary of Ingersoll-Rand, Applied Power, and in developing the unique sales program for CCC Information Systems which took the company from $7M in sales to $380M in just three short years enabling them to go "public".After leaving the auto industry I consulted with a number of companies and owned several small businesses ranging from the food industry to construction. When my first wife developed breast cancer, I applied my knowledge of science and developed a database of cancer treatment protocols, attended numerous oncology educational seminars on cutting edge treatments from the DaVinci robot, to cancer vaccines and biological response modifiers, landing to a position as the spokesperson for the National Cord Blood Registry. I am a well-versed lecturer have spoken at major medical centers in Eastern Europe, built several clinics in underdeveloped countries, provided new treatment information to more than 1000 health practitioners and patients, written a book about cancer treatment options, and have spoken to more than 3000 Rotary clubs and Rotary events in 43 states and five foreign countries.

Published AuthorPublished By Ingramspark Oct 2003 - PresentIngramSpark just released my newest book . . . "Blessed are the Heroes" . . . the story of PFC Robert Donahue, USMC, from the memoirs of Robert L. Donahue, a 19-year-old Marine who was activated in 1950 to fight in Korea against North Korean and Chinese invaders – the first test of U.N. resolve to halt rogue nations from acts of violence. He was twice wounded in action, and helped the Third Marine Division achieve the “Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea during the periods 21 April through 25 September 1951.” Twice badly wounded he was awarded two purple hearts and the bronze star for valor. He was just an ordinary American kid who overcame fear and showed exceptional courage and leadership in the face of overwhelming odds. This compelling story is reminiscent of Band of Brothers and Hacksaw Ridge and has been praised by one critic as “exceptionally well-written, with the combat scenes putting the reader right in the middle of the action and on the front line” (Zoetrope, September 2020)

Board ChairCancer Support Group Jan 2000 - PresentMooresville, NcI established the Linda Mattson Wings of Hope Cancer Foundation following the death of my first wife. She waged a long sixteen year battle with breast cancer, bladder, stomach, a second round with bladder, and finally pancreatic cancer. We shortened the foundation name to Cancer Group a few years ago to make it easy to remember. Our mission statement originally was to provide new treatment options and make available expense money to families with children suffering from cancer, to travel to specialized centers for cutting-edge treatments. We eventually evolved into helping anyone needing a helping hand, but after seven years began finding it harder and harder to raise significant money so we changed our focus to just providing new clinical study information to doctors and patients, while traveling the country to speak on cancer issues to service clubs. Over a twelve year period we made more than 3000 presentations, radio/TV appearances, and numerous book-signings to promote "Say NO to the Undertaker...Winning Your Battle with Cancer"; a book I wrote to help fund the foundation.Besides providing for nearly 1000 cancer victims, we worked with Hands Across the Sea Foundation to build medical centers in underdeveloped countries in Eastern Europe and elsewhere, and helped form the Romanian Association of Preventive Oncology. We have been involved globally in specialized medical centers in Romania and Moldova and work with several hospitals in underdeveloped countries, provided equipment, supplies, and medicines through The Humanitarian Network. We work with many Non-Profit groups in this endeavor.

MemberRotary International 2001 - 2013Mishawaka, IndianaI have always billed myself as "The 100% volunteer" for Rotarian projects. Never wishing to seek an executive position within Rotary, I was appointed Membership Chair of the Disaster Relief Rotarian Action Group, and later became Vice President of the Hands Across the Sea Group once it spun off from Rotary into a separate action group involved in helping clubs do humanitarian service abroad. I became its President when with the death of its Founding President, District Governor, Jim Johannsen, and made the entity a 501-c-3 non-profit foundation.Throughout the existence of Hands Across the Sea, I worked with the National Guard Bureau of International Affairs-State Partnership Program (NGBIA-SPP see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Partnership_Program) as an integral partner in over 100 Embassy-based humanitarian projects, helping Rotary Clubs form partners for their international programsI have spoken to more than 3000 Rotary clubs, district conferences, district assemblies, RYA (youth groups), and at the Rotary International Convention while serving more than 10 years in the organization. -
Managing PartnerCenter-Point Consultants Jul 2010 - Oct 2012Mooresville, NcWe provide business consulting services, which included providing media consultancy for WSIC Media in Statesville, NC, developing new community-based programing ideally suited for radio-television simulcast over the last year. With release of my newest book on the spirit of America, the first in a four-book series titled, "Down on Main Street Searching for American Exceptionalism", the focus of Center-Point Consultants has become speaking to groups and doing media interviews on restoring the faith in America. Today we are telling the story of America and its unique position and importance in the world. Politics as they have become appear to be out-of-control, and the government, having lost its moral compass, is teaching that morality, honor, truth, hard work, and freedom are no longer traits worthy of pursuing. Instead schools are indoctrinating our children in Marxist/socialist rhetoric that will fundamentally alter the country unless we put an end to it. Conservative thought and fiscal responsibility should be of interest to all and we welcome the opportunity to speak to any group concerned about the direction our country is headed.

Executive DirectorHands Across The Sea, Inc Mar 2005 - Mar 2011I am still the Executive Director of this non-profit, international humanitarian aid project group which has participated in more than 100 service and disaster relief projects. This is a great non-profit shell we use for projects of all descriptions, but mainly working with military assets like the National Guard Bureau of International Affairs-State Partnership Program, Project Handclasp, and other military-civilian programs. We have been involved in project development and implementation. The NGBIA-SPP is a federal strategic embassy-based partnership between underdeveloped countries and individual states, designed to foster educational, medical, agricultural, safety, security, and similar common interest programs. Hands Across the Sea opened the door for me to become an instructor at DISAM (Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which is an educational program to train embassy military personnel on humanitarian aid protocols.

Sales Manager, Regional And Divisional ManagerWas Ccc Information Services 1990 - 1993Arlington , Tx; Chicago, Il; Los Angeles, CaI started out as a consultant to help develop a marketing plan to introduce a new software estimating program to the collision repair industry and auto insurers. The near start up company had $7M in revenues in 1990 and by 1994 had reach nearly $400M. We went public. CCCG (stock identity) is currently the industry leader with numerous program spin-offs such as AutoSearch vehicle locator, and and program I developed today known as CAR FAX, to which I own the copywrite under the name "Auto FAX". We've never resolved the legal dispute over program ownership. The key point of my association with CCC is the landmark success which automated and changed the entire insurance claims handling business, through an entirely new "subscription-based" software plan with obsolescence protection.
