Ed has spent the last two years supporting the development of the Energy & Natural Resources Strategy proposition at KPMG, advising on power markets, carbon dioxide removals ("CDRs"), Carbon Capture & Storage ("CCS") and hydrogen. In that time, he has developed in-depth knowledge of the UK and European policy landscape, the key risks across the value chain and the commercial opportunities that exist therein. Ed has advised IOGP clients, negative emissions power station developers, hydrogen transport infrastructure developers and large industrials on commercial development options, negotiation competitiveness and policy development. Prior to working for KPMG, Ed spent three years in the Trading and Optimisation team at Drax, where he developed in-depth knowledge of the UK power market, with some focus on interconnected markets such as France and Norway, as well as the mechanics of wholesale trading products. In this time, Ed employed fundamental analysis to inform trading strategy, and commercially optimised a fleet of biomass, gas, coal, pumped storage and hydro assets.
