About Ed Quilty
I’m a 30+ year entrepreneur and cleantech CEO focused on helping solve the world's largest water and climate change challenges. I founded Aquatic Informatics (AQI) in 2003 and grew it to be one of the world’s largest water data management and analytics company. AQI's software continues to be used in more than 60 countries for monitoring water quantity (droughts and floods), water quality (environmental, municipal, industrial), and climatic conditions. In 2017, I partnered with a XPV Water Partners to accelerate growth through acquisitions and together in 2020 we sold AQI to Danaher, a US$30B revenue publicly traded company. I stayed on for 2 years as President before in July 2022 refocusing my energy on helping other climate impact companies reach their potential. I have since joined several boards, invested in early stage companies, taken an Interim CEO role in a high growth ~$1B valuation AgTech company, and recently jumped into the CEO role of Mobiltex, a Calgary based energy tech company backed by XPV. I like bold ventures focused on big impacts, working with other entrepreneurs, and developing the next generation of cleantech leaders.

President, Aquatic Informatics
Founder, President And Ceo
I started Aquatic Informatics (AI) in 2003 after working for more than a decade as a river ecologist, tracking the harmful impacts of urban, industrial, and agricultural activities on our water. I had traveled the world and wanted to make a bigger difference and on a global scale. My mission was to protect life with open and timely water information. AI is.
Founder And President
This was a small company that I started so we could have a laser focus on an emerging and exciting field - automated real-lime monitoring of water quality in remote locations. Our focus was largely rivers and streams in the Pacific Northwest of Canada, detecting impacts of forestry, agriculture, and urban development. We spent the majority of our time in.
Aquatic Ecologist
This was my training ground. I worked with highly dedicated (and fun!) teams under the Environmental Protection Branch conducting freshwater and marine monitoring programs, environmental impact assessments, pollution investigations, and environmental permit inspections.
