GLAXOSMITHKLINE R&D, Platform Technology and Science (PTS), King of Prussia, PA October 2012 to October 2013 Director, PTS Operations, Strategy and Delivery tasked with ensuring that PTS has the right strategy to achieve its vision and the subsequent delivery of key projects to achieve said strategy. Clearly articulate an aligned PTS strategy while continually challenging it with independent perspectives and delivering key projects for strategy implementation. Lead the PTS Strategic Planning Process across the PTS lines. Manage and develop a team of high performing individuals that are deployed to deliver on the projects using ADP principles. Report on environmental developments in industry, GSK and R&D as context on how these could impact PTS strategy. Drove eleven PTS Enterprise Projects delivering Finance validated benefit of £12 million for 2012.

A key aspect of Ed’s role is to prioritize the capital and quality requirements on a worldwide basis across PCD and ensure alignment of resources to enable the delivery of business benefit and regulatory compliance. Ed is also responsible for establishing and implementing a global, integrated PCD facilities strategy, ensuring that Capital plans are aligned and integrated amongst PCD lines and that PCD’s capital plans are aligned with key business partners within and beyond R&D (e.g. – Manufacturing), thus ensuring the coordination, prioritization and integration of PCD Facility Compliance and Capital Strategy and Execution.Ed, in line with the R&D and PCD Strategy, will work with and across the lines to deliver integrated, robust and effective solutions by ensuring PCD facilities are strategically placed, capable, compliant and can support regulatory inspections.
