This includes 24x7 Production support, monitoring overall health of the Production CC&B application (infrastructure and database), full scale/performance testing of the CC&B application, providing technical expertise for strategic planning and managing the Production, Full Scale Test (FSTE) as well all development/test environments of CC&B.Responsible for reviewing and making the determination as to when upgrades (to both the application and infrastructure) are ready for production and authorize their installation.Developed and implemented processes and procedures to improve operational stability, efficiency, performance and manageability of CC&B application as part of an integrated PG&E customer support system. Ensured the successful and timely completion of the nightly batch customer billing run, of associated batch processes such as meter reads and bill print. Oversaw planned outages of the Production CC&B application and authored the outage plans for distribution. Answered developer questions and provided clarification of requirements. Resolved business issues with cost effective technical solutions. Duties included monitoring and tuning the entire multi-application layer system to maintain optimum performance and minimal response time to the end user population of over 3,000 daily users. Partnered with the business teams, vendors, PG&E development teams and outside entities to clarify requirements and determine technical options. Evaluate the technical impacts of modifications to all aspects of the system and the supporting business processes. Review vendor changes to identify impacts to the system. Work with vendor and/or in-house development teams to mitigate any risks from vendor changes. Anticipate and mitigate any risks from a proposed solution and identify and involve other groups who are impacted.Provide environment coordination duties for the Full Scale Test Environment (FSTE). Responsibilities includes but were not limited to:• The development, testing, production support, any SR/IR code fixes, performance modifications and version upgrades on over 20 interfaces.• Provide second level 24x7 production support on other interface applications as well as supporting the data transfer of EDI transactions to and from an external server (MADS).• Development of Mercator inbound and outbound EDI translation systems within a multi-platform environment; Win2K, UNIX, MVS.• Provide assistance to End-to-End test team and Technical Analyst team with knowledge dissemination.• Development and testing of jobs, events and job plans in the UC4 scheduling application.• Heavily involved with unit, End to End, Performance, and Operational Readiness Testing.• Responsible for proper documentation of functional specifications, technical specifications, migration documents, and system flow diagrams.• Provide knowledge and assistance to other developers as well as conduct code review of peer systems.
