Creation and optimization of Li ion battery technology to address the ever changing landscape of energy and power applications, utilizing a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines.

Provide engineering support in the design, manufacture, installation, and acceptance testing of superconductor magnets and their cryogenic support systems utilized in the S250 Proton Beam Therapy system used in the treatment of cancer.• Develop documentation for the manufacture of superconductor magnet and cryogenic components• Engineering and component supplier liason• Provide guidance to component suppliers to assure compliance with specifications• Development of WBS, schedule, milestones, cost and program deliverables and tracking

* Primary responsibility for developing process capability for A123's R&D prismatic assembly.* Specifying equipment to support all aspects of prismatic cell assembly.* Performing equipment and process optimization.* Tracking and reporting of yields through cell assembly. * Supporting all areas of cell assembly including cylindrical and prismatic form factors.

* Primary responsibility for all roll-to-roll substrate development for Wakonda's proprietary Virtual Single Crystal (VSC) foil including all operations to ensure downstream development can be carried out without any interruption in substrate supply.* PVD thin film depositions via sputtering, e-beam and thermal evaporation techniques.* Material characterization utilizing light microscopy, Pole figure/X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope with EDAX analysis capability.

* Primary responsibility for MOD solution generation to support R&D efforts designed to enhance the current carrying capabilities of second generation YBCO coated conductor composite wires. Also responsible during the early stages of development for first generation BSCCO solution/powder processing.* Bench chemist responsible for setting up and developing analytical techniques used to characterize new chemistries. * Support manufacturing baseline process including precursor salt synthesis, solution preparation and all material qualification (tracked via electrical performance utilizing SPC) used for production coatings including scheduling with production group and maintaining raw materials inventory used for synthesis. * In-house consultant to Analytical Engineering group to help develop and modify methods for characterization of materials utilizing various analytical instrumentation including ICP-AES, FTIR and X-ray diffraction. * Thin film buffer deposition utilizing PVD processes of sputtering and thermal evaporation.

* Started off as a second shift assembler and rapidly advanced through the technician ranks to the final position of Process Lab Manager/Engineering Assistant prior to leaving the company. * Responsible for the supervision of several laboratory process technicians covering various wet/dry processes for the fabrication of Gallium Arsenide and Silicon semiconductor devices. * Developed new processes for fabrication of high power devices, which allowed for smaller, more efficient and lower production cost devices.
