Ed is a seasoned chief strategy officer at Wheelhouse and a proven industry deal maker, leading the strategic roll-out of the company and overseeing all business development, M&A, and strategy across its business units. Ed has led the acquisitions and launch of Wheelhouse's production labels and partnerships from the company's inception and combines a deep understanding of creative and business accumen. In 2023, Simpson led the company's first outside capital raise with investment firm Alignment Growth. Ed has facilitated the growth and acquisition of diverse production groups, such as Leftfield Pictures' acquisition of Sirens Media, and the subsequent landmark sale of the group to ITV America.He is a graduate of the Cable Executive Education program at Harvard Business School, where he honed his skills in leadership, innovation, and strategy. Simpson has a strong background in media and TV production, having worked as an executive producer, and developer in both the US and UK markets. He has successfully launched and expanded several TV formats franchises, such as Hells Kitchen, Alone and Pawn Stars, into international territories and new product categories. Simpson is passionate about building content businesses that sit at the nexus of culture with new and diverse revenue streams and creating and delivering engaging and impactful content, talent, and technology solutions that resonate with audiences and clients worldwide.
